The Sacred Flow: Why Quality Water, Minerals, and Hydrated Fascia Matter More Than You Think

We often think of water as just something to quench our thirst. Something to swig after a run or sip during a hot day. But water isn’t just a drink — it’s a living, vibrating, intelligent force that flows through every cell, organ, and system in our body. It is, quite literally, life.

We are walking oceans. Our bodies are made up of around 70% water, the brain, even more. Every heartbeat, breath, and movement depends on this miraculous element. But here’s where it gets really interesting: it’s not just the amount of water you drink that matters — it’s the quality of that water, and how well it can enter and nourish your cells.

Let’s explore the watery wonder that keeps you alive and well — and why your fascia, your minerals, and even your salt shaker all have something to say about it.

Water: The Conductor of Life

Water isn't just a passive carrier — it's a conductor of electricity, of life force, of information. It carries nutrients to our cells, helps flush toxins out, lubricates joints, and maintains our temperature. But what many don’t realise is that for water to actually get inside our cells and do its job — it needs help.

And that help? Comes from minerals.

Salt — Not Just for Chips

The kind of salt we’re talking about here isn’t your average white table salt — the kind that’s been bleached, stripped, and turned into a lonely sodium chloride. We’re talking about real, mineral-rich salt: Himalayan pink salt, Celtic sea salt, and other naturally harvested salts that contain 80+ trace minerals.

These minerals are like keys that open the doors to your cells.

Without them, water can sit outside the cell — kind of like someone knocking at the door with good intentions but never being let in. Proper hydration isn’t just about drinking more water — it’s about ensuring that water is able to enter your cells and stay there.

Salt, in the right form and amount, helps maintain our electrolyte balance, supports adrenal health, and gives water its wings.

Fascia: Your Inner Ocean Highway

Now, let’s talk about your fascia — the web-like connective tissue that wraps around every muscle, organ, bone, and nerve. If your body were a tent, fascia would be the ropes, poles, and fabric all at once.

Fascia is around 70% water — when it’s healthy and hydrated, it’s smooth, gliding, springy. You move with ease, your organs communicate well, your body hums.

But when fascia dries out (think: stress, dehydration, inflammation, trauma, sedentary lifestyle), it becomes sticky, gluey, and tight. This can lead to pain, poor mobility, and a feeling of being “stuck” — physically and emotionally.

Hydrated fascia is happy fascia. And guess what helps keep it juicy and nourished? You guessed it:

quality water + minerals.

What’s Really in Your Tap Water? The Hidden Chemicals Impacting Your Health

Many of my friends and family know me well when it comes to conversations about water quality, there has been many debates about the quality of tap water. For many Australians—and people around the world tap water isn’t as clean as it seems. Behind the clear appearance lies a cocktail of chemicals and pollutants, many of which are known to disrupt our hormones, immune function, and even our nervous system.

Let’s explore what might be lurking in your glass—and how to protect yourself.

1. Chlorine

Purpose: Used to disinfect water and kill pathogens Health Impacts:

  • Irritates skin, eyes, and respiratory system

  • Can react with organic matter to form trihalomethanes (THMs) — linked to bladder cancer and reproductive issues

2. Fluoride

Purpose: Added to reduce dental cavities Health Impacts:

  • Excessive intake may cause fluorosis (tooth/mottling and skeletal)

  • Linked in some studies to thyroid dysfunction, lowered IQ in children, and neurotoxicity

    3. Lead

Source: Old pipes, plumbing fixtures, solder Health Impacts:

  • Highly toxic, especially to children — impairs brain development, lowers IQ

  • In adults, contributes to hypertension, kidney damage, and reproductive issues

4. PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances)

Source: Industrial waste, fire retardants, non-stick coatings Health Impacts:

  • Known as "forever chemicals" — persist in body and environment

  • Linked to cancer, immune suppression, thyroid disease, and hormone disruption

5. Nitrates and Nitrites

Source: Fertilizer runoff, sewage Health Impacts:

  • Can cause "blue baby syndrome" (methemoglobinemia) in infants

  • Linked to thyroid issues and possibly cancer

6. Arsenic

Source: Natural deposits, industrial pollution Health Impacts:

  • Carcinogenic — linked to skin, bladder, lung, and kidney cancers

  • May cause neurological effects, diabetes, and skin lesions

7. Bacteria and Parasites

Source: Contaminated or untreated water Health Impacts:

  • Cause gastrointestinal diseases: diarrhoea, vomiting, cramping

  • Examples: E. coli, Giardia, Cryptosporidium

8. Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)

Source: Industrial solvents, gasoline by products Health Impacts:

  • Linked to liver and kidney damage, nervous system problems, and cancer

9. Aluminium

Source: Water treatment additives Health Impacts:

  • Linked to neurological issues, possibly Alzheimer's (still debated)

  • May cause bone and brain disorders with long-term exposure

10. Radon or Radioactive Elements (e.g., Uranium, Radium)

Source: Natural bedrock, mining areas Health Impacts:

  • Radioactive exposure increases risk of cancer

  • Can damage organs and tissues over time

👩‍⚕️ Tips for Safer Water:

  • Use a high-quality water filter (like reverse osmosis or activated carbon)

  • Get your tap water tested (especially in older homes or rural areas)

  • Use a certified filter for specific contaminants in your area

What You Can Do (Because You’re Mostly Water Too)

  1. Drink structured or spring water when possible. These waters are more “alive” — closer to the form your body loves and recognises.

  2. Add a pinch of mineral salt to your water, especially in the morning or after sweating.

  3. Eat your water. Fresh fruits and veggies contain hydrating, structured water plus vital nutrients and enzymes.

  4. Move your body. Movement pumps fluid through your fascia, keeping it supple and strong.

  5. Limit dehydrating habits. Coffee, alcohol, stress, and processed foods all pull water out of the system.

  6. Listen to your body. Sometimes fatigue, headaches, or anxiety are just a gentle nudge to hydrate better — not more, but smarter.

DIY Cellular Hydration Water Recipe (a.k.a. Living Water)

    What You’ll Need:

    • 1 litre filtered or spring water (avoid tap water if possible, or use a basic charcoal filter jug)

    • A pinch of mineral-rich salt (like Himalayan pink salt, Celtic sea salt, or Real Salt – unrefined and unbleached)

    • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice (or lime juice) – optional, but adds electrolytes + helps alkalise

    • Optional: a few drops of trace mineral drops (like Concen Trace or Aussie-based Full health Minerals – optional if you're not using quality salt)

    • Optional: 1 tsp chia seeds (pre-soaked) – helps hold hydration in the fascia and gut

    • Optional: Slice of cucumber or mint for taste and extra hydration magic

    Why This Works:

    • Mineral salt provides sodium, magnesium, potassium, and other electrolytes needed for water to enter your cells — not just sit outside them.

    • Lemon or lime supports liver detox and adds potassium and vitamin C — enhancing absorption.

    • Trace minerals (if used) mimic natural spring water — they’re like the keys that let water into your cells.

    • Chia seeds (if added) become gel-like and act like little hydration sponges for fascia and the gut lining.

    • Cucumber or mint bring additional water content and cooling, calming energy.

    How to Use:

    • Sip throughout the day — especially first thing in the morning and after sweating, sauna, or bodywork.

    • Don’t chug — slow sipping allows your body to actually absorb the water.

    • Can be stored in the fridge for 24 hours. Glass bottles preferred.

    Tips:

    • You don’t need expensive products or complicated machines if you cant afford it— just good salt, clean water, and awareness.

    • If you don’t have lemon, a splash of apple cider vinegar works well too.

    • If adding chia, soak in a bit of water separately for 10+ mins before mixing in.

    Optional “Energising” Step:

    • Place the water in sunlight for 20–30 mins in a glass container (not plastic).

    • Speak an intention or blessing into it (“thank you for nourishing every cell in my body”).

    • This turns ordinary water into structured or blessed water — scientifically, sunlight + gratitude shifts the energetic imprint.

Client Story: “It Wasn’t Burnout — I Was Just Dry”

“For months I felt exhausted. Not just tired but like bone-deep fatigue. I was drinking loads of water, but nothing shifted. My body ached, my mind was foggy, and I honestly thought I was heading toward burnout… again.”

Sophie came to me with classic signs of chronic dehydration — but not the kind a glass of water can fix. Her fascia was tight, her muscles weren’t recovering, and she felt emotionally brittle. The kind of brittle that comes when your inner waters have dried up.

We started simple:– A pinch of quality Celtic salt in her water each morning.– Swapped tap water for filtered, then spring water when possible.– Introduced gentle fascial release through craniosacral therapy and somatic movement.– Encouraged her to eat more hydrating foods and move her body like it was made of liquid light.

Within two weeks, her eyes were brighter. She was sleeping better. Her anxiety lessened. And her body — that beautiful, wise body — began to soften again.

“I didn’t realise how tense I was until I started to feel fluid again,” she said. “It wasn’t burnout. I was just… dry. No one ever told me fascia needs water. Or that salt could be medicine.”

Sometimes, the healing isn’t about doing more — it’s about listening to the quiet whispers of what the body has been missing all along. And sometimes, what it’s really asking for…Is water.

In Essence…

Water is sacred. It’s not just a physical need — it’s an emotional, spiritual, and energetic one. When we honour it, when we give our body not just any water but living water, and support it with nature’s minerals, something changes.

The body softens. The mind clears. The fascia flows. And suddenly, you feel more you again — more fluid, more connected, more alive.

So next time you raise a glass, bless it, thank it, and maybe even whisper a little love into it. After all, it’s listening — and so is your body.
